ais-rating-menu
Angular InstantSearch isnโt compatible with Angularโs Ivy view engine. Weโre investigating how best to support this. For more information and to vote for Algoliaโs support of Angular 16 and beyond, see the GitHub issue Algolia Support for Angular InstantSearch

About this widget
The ais-rating-menu lets the user refine search results by clicking on stars.
The stars are based on the selected attribute.
Requirements
- The attributes passed to the
attributesprop must be declared as Attributes for faceting on the Algolia dashboard) or configured asattributesForFacetingwith the Algolia API.
The attribute values must be integers, not strings nor floats. If your dataset includes float values, the widget returns only exact numerical matches. For example, if a user selects โ4 [stars] & Upโ, we only return records with values such as 4 or 5, not records with values like 4.5 or 4.7. If your attribute is a float, we recommend indexing a new attribute with the rounded integer value to use in this widget.

Customize the UI with connectRatingMenu
If you want to create your own UI of the ais-rating-menu widget, you can combine the connectRatingMenu connector with the TypedBaseWidget class.
1. Extend the TypedBaseWidget class

  First of all, you will need to write some boilerplate code to initialize correctly the TypedBaseWidget class. This happens in the constructor() of your class extending the TypedBaseWidget class.

import { Component, Inject, forwardRef, Optional } from '@angular/core';
import { TypedBaseWidget, NgAisInstantSearch, NgAisIndex } from 'angular-instantsearch';
@Component({
  selector: 'app-rating-menu',
  template: '<p>It works!</p>'
})
export class RatingMenu extends TypedBaseWidget {
  constructor(
    @Inject(forwardRef(() => NgAisIndex))
    @Optional()
    public parentIndex: NgAisIndex,
    @Inject(forwardRef(() => NgAisInstantSearch))
    public instantSearchInstance: NgAisInstantSearch
  ) {
    super('RatingMenu');
  }
}
There are a couple of things happening in this boilerplate:
- create a
RatingMenuclass extendingTypedBaseWidget - reference the
<ais-instantsearch>parent component instance on theRatingMenuwidget class - set
app-rating-menuas a selector, so we can use our component as<app-rating-menu></app-rating-menu>
2. Connect your custom widget
The TypedBaseWidget class has a method called createWidget() which takes two arguments: the connector to use and an object of options
(instance options)
 for this connector. We call this method at ngOnInit. This component now implements OnInit.

import { Component, Inject, forwardRef, Optional } from '@angular/core';
import { TypedBaseWidget, NgAisInstantSearch, NgAisIndex } from 'angular-instantsearch';
import connectRatingMenu, {
  RatingMenuWidgetDescription,
  RatingMenuConnectorParams
} from 'instantsearch.js/es/connectors/rating-menu/connectRatingMenu';
@Component({

export class RatingMenu extends TypedBaseWidget<RatingMenuWidgetDescription, RatingMenuConnectorParams> {

    this.createWidget(connectRatingMenu, {
      // instance options
      attribute: 'rating',
    });
    super.ngOnInit();
  }
}
3. Render from the state
Your component instance has access to a this.state property which holds the rendering options of the widget.
public state: RatingMenuWidgetDescription['renderState'];
// {
//   items: object[];

//   refine: Function;
